I was worried about how to draw it.
We must understand the construction of the picture.
What did he imagine before drawing in front of a pure white canvas?

We can see nothing finely from the beginning.

２回目のカルダーです。
さて、あの絵をどう描いていくか…悩みました。
はじめは石膏像と同じように、"計測し、ポイントを打つ"
という方法を行ってみましたが、たとえ正確に描けたとしても、
それでは写し絵にすぎない気がします。
カルダーさんは、そんな風にして描くはずがない！
ということで、仕切り直して、
まず、絵の構成を読み解くことからはじめました。
真っ白なキャンバスを前に、
カルダーさんはどんなイメージを思い描いていたのでしょう…。



彼が一番描きたかったのは、きっと、
このぺんぺん草のようなモチーフではないでしょうか。
手前から奥へ向う、この動き。ぐわーん。ぐわん、ぐわん。
そして、となりの、ゼンマイのような、ぐるぐるぐるぐる。
そして呼応するように左の円。あとは感覚的に、浮遊する円…。
表現が抽象的になってしまいましたが、
ここは音楽的にノリよくいきましょう。
私もその気になって、手を動かしてみました。

何事も、はじめから細かくは見えません。
手探りでつかんでいくことが必要なのだと思います。

Caldar-1

Recently we learned "lines" mainly by Hokusai.
So next, our theme is "volum, and its composition".
Today is Alexander Calder. I pick up him before in this blog.
He is famous for a mobile. He draws the picture too.

このところ北斎三昧でした。
北斎先生からは、線をメインに学習したので、
次ののテーマは、Volumeとその配置です。
今日はアレクサンダー・カルダー。
このブログでも、以前、その名を出したことがあります。▶Calder?
モビールで有名ですが、当然ながら、絵も描いています。

This is a finished picture. I am going to upload the process in several times.

これが完成図です。サインも真似てみました。
ここに至るまでの過程を、これから数回に分けてアップしていきますね。

Japan's First Woman Photojournalist

Do you know the TV program "Tetsuko-no-heya”(The room of Tetsuko) ?
It is a famous talk show in Japan.
Tetsuko, whose hair style resemble an onion, is a charming woman who is full of curiosity.
She talks with many interesting guests.
The other day, Lady GAGA was a guest on her shows as well.

Today's guest was Tsuneko Sasamoto, who is a female photographer.
To my surprise, she is 96 years old.
She is a very cheerful refined person.
The secret of her spirit...
・She draws all the food that she eats.
・She even makes her own clothes.
・She drinks 170cc of wine every night.
On the other hand, she doesn't eat the staple food.

日本人にはおなじみの、徹子の部屋。
今日のゲストは、女性報道写真家の笹本恒子さん。
驚くなかれ、なんと彼女は96歳！
とても元気でしっかりしていて、品のある方でした。
健康の秘訣は…
・食べたものを毎回すべて描く。（絵もお得意だそうです）
・服は自分で作る。
・毎晩170ccのワインを呑む。そのかわり、主食は食べない。

At the end of the program, Tetsuko asked her
"Please give some words to the younger viewers who are watching".

Tsuneko Sasamoto said,
"At first,let's try!
The young person often says this way.
-"I want to draw a picture, but I have no talent."-
Only the future can tell if there is talent or not.
So let's give it a try anyway."

I wanted to become such a super woman.
And I thought that it was up to my intention.

番組の最後。
「この番組を見ている若い人に一言を。」
その答えがとてもよかったです。

「まずやってみること！
若い人達はよくこう言うの。
『私は絵を描きたいんだけど、才能がないんです。』
才能があるかないかなんて、やってからわかること。
だからまず、とにかくやってみることです。」

私も、この方のようなスーパーウーマンになりたいものです。
そして、それは自分の意志次第なのだな〜と思った、
徹子の部屋でした。

My holiday

I jogged last night.
It was wonderful feeling the caress of the cool evening wind on my skin
while bathing in the white light of the moon.
The more I run, the more I move forward.
My body refuse to stop.
But I started have difficulty breathing,so I stopped before I collapsed.

My face became bright red like boiled octopus.

O-bon holidays

In hot morning of the middle summer

Japanese lantern plant
This is described as a ceremonial bonfire.

Our office will be closed from tomorrow for O-bon holidays.

In Japan, we have holidays for "Bon festival".
It can be roughly translated s "the festival of the dead".
Japanese people believe that the dead family members return
from the beyond during the Bon period,
and most people take their days off to go back to their hometown
to welcome the returning ancestors.
For the Japanese, the holiday this year is special.

明日から夏期休業をいただきます。

お盆は、亡くなられた方々に思いを馳せる時です。
日本では、この時期、先祖の霊が家に帰ってくると信じられています。
私達日本人にとって、今年のお盆は、特別なものになるでしょう。

Are you surviving the hot summer?

I use a new computer that my boss bought recently.
The software on it uses the latest edition, too.
The mouse is smooth and the monitor is clear!
I feel stress-free. I feel relaxed.

I noticed the data of the poster I am currently working on.
"My work is so sloppy!"
My motivation is increased. I want to improve my work.

The world evolves every day.
I must evolve, too.

近況：

新しいPCを使用しています。
ソフトも、最新版を使っています。
動きはスムーズだし、モニターでの見え方が鮮明！
ストレスフリーです。
そして、私は気がつきました。
現在制作中のデータが、いかにいい加減だったか…！
んー、モチベーションが上がってきました。
もっと良いものを作りたい。

世界は日々進化する。
私も、進化しなければ。


Hibiscus : from the balcony of my house

My favorite layout

"Oh, this is very good. I like it!"

「あ、これいいな。私、好きだな！」と思ったものを、
そのままにしていると、いつの間にか忘却の彼方へ。
せっかく心がときめいたのに、もったいない。

ということで、今日の朝活は、
「最近いいなと思ったもの」を描いてみることに。
手で描いて、理解しましょう、覚えましょう。
では、経過順にどうぞ。

１）Legs,legs,legs... 足、足、足。

で、何を描いているのかって？
はい、昔のシャネルのコレクションブックの表紙です。
（これは筆入れ前のデッサン）

４）It's complete!

The background of the real book cover is flat and white,
and the image of the model is from photograph.
However, this is my drawing,
so I included some texture in the background.

こんな感じです。
本物では、背景はフラットな紙白で、モデルも写真ですが、
これは絵なので、マチエールをつけてみました。

そのマチエール：
クレヨンのような描き心地の、水に溶けるパステルの、
白と黒を利用して、「ぐちゃぐちゃ」と簡単に塗り付けたあと、
白や赤などのポスターカラーを重ねて塗りました。

やや防水っぽくなるので、紙がたわまないという
ラッキーなオマケもついてきました。

Hokusai-mouse

The Hokusai lecture that continued for a while is the last in this.
The motif is a mouse.
In the guidebook by Hokusai, it is drawn with a rabbit.
The point of how to describe is the same as a rabbit.
I was weak in a mouse, so I omitted it.
But I decided to challenge itbecause there was a request.

しばらく続いた北斎講座も、これで最後です。
今回のモチーフは、ねずみです。
北斎による指南書では、ウサギとセットで描かれています。
描き方の要領は、ウサギと同じってことですね。
私はねずみが苦手なので、省略していましたが、
リクエストがあった為、挑戦してみることにしました。

But now I noticed the foot of the mouse is action station.
ねずみをマジマジと見たことが無かった私ですが、
すばしっこそうな、戦闘態勢の足をしている事が判明。

Hokusai said the hair does not grow on the finger.
Oh! Professor Hokusai, it is the very careful indication.
指には毛が生えていないってこと？
北斎先生、非常に丁寧なご指摘です。

２日間に渡る、朝活の絵を合わせると…こうなります！



About the composition: 構図について

The movement
Withdraw from the left edge below,
from the lower right, it grow straight to the top,
and it comes back to the left-hand page again.
In that way while moving our eyes,
Commentary sentence of Hokusai is written in at the blank of the middle closely.
Professor hokusai is very cool!

グルリと画面を一周するような、ムーブメントです。

左端から右へ向って、下に重く下がっていき、
到着した右下から、グンッと上へ伸び、
そして再び、左ページへ戻る…

真ん中の余白には、北斎先生の解説文が
ぎっしり書き込まれています。
（ここでは省略）

視線が画面外へ逃げない様に、
かつ、画面一杯に視線を誘導し、
結局最後は、文字に目がとまるようになる
という訳です。

さすがですね。北斎先生、かっこいい。

Hokusai-Gomphrena globosa2

The morning activity series from yesterday.
It is the picture of the left half.
The motif is the foxtail millet and saxifraga.

昨日の朝活の続きです。
左半分の絵です。モチーフは粟と虎耳草（ゆきのした）です。




虎耳草（ゆきのした）

●図のごとく葉を墨にてかき　
黄がちのくさのしるにてぬり
元より端へつねのくさの汁にて　
葉のかたちにならひてくまどり
元よりべろのくま也
はうらハ朱にて合わせたる肉色（にくしき）をぬり
元よりへりへ　まハして　くゝりぐまなり
ごくごくうすききがちの草のしるにて
影の方よりわりぐまをかける
茎ハ朱のきめにてせうゑんじをときて
くきをつけ立テにかくべし

●花はごふんのつけたて　
上の三ひら　立チたるにハ
図のごとくせうゑんじにて　
いかにもちいさくほしをかくべし

粟（あわ）

●葉はわうどを塗り　べんがらのきめにてわりぐま
はの中すぢハ　黄のぐにて細くかき入レ

When the saxifraga writes Japanese, it is "tiger ear glass".

虎耳草とは聞き慣れない名前ですが、
通りでよく見かける植物です。

Hokusai-Gomphrena globosa

Without getting tired, I am absorbed in Hokusai as ever.
Today's morning activity is Gomphrena globosa of Hokusai.
Though this picture is a spread,I drew only the right half today.

飽きる事無く、相変わらず、北斎三昧です。
今日の朝活は、北斎の千日紅（センニチコウ）です。
この絵は見開きで、粟や虎耳草があるのですが、今日は右半分だけ。

●花は大なりをうすく朱をぬり付け　
花びら図のごとく　にくしきにて付ケ
せうゑんじのぐのきめにて一ツぺんあびせ
朱のきめにて　せうゑんじをとき
かげよりくまどり　へりへ　
くまをみかづきにまハして　丸く見せべし

●はのおもて合わせぐさ　くさの汁のわりぐま
同く元よりそうぐま　べろのふかしぐまなり

●葉うらびやく　くさの汁のわりぐま　
元より同くそう隈うてな　
茎　びやくろくをぬり　せうゑんじふしくま
うてなのうら　白きびやくろく

Hokusai-Lily-3

It is a lily of Hokusai, the third appearance.
The flower is more delicate than an animal.
So the expression of the line becomes very important.
We must try to draw many times.

「迷わず行けよ。行けば分かるさ。デッサン道。」
こんにちは、アントニオさえきです。

北斎の百合、しつこい様ですが、また描きました。（３回目）
花は、動物等に比べて、とても繊細で細いので、
線の表情がとても大切になってきます。

ここで改めて、これまでの経過を振り返ってみましょう。
一見、ほとんど変わらないようですが、
一応、少しずつ気をつけているのです。

The line of the bud is not stylish.
It may be one of the reason that form is vague.
つぼみの線がもたついている。形が曖昧なのも、原因の一つかも。

▶Right:　Hokusai-Lily-2　2011-07-29　２回目

The form of the bud revised it.
But It becomes the indifferent　line generally.
The particularly upper petal is superficial.
It cannot be expressed this side and back distance.
初挑戦の時のつぼみの形は直したけれど、全体に淡白になっている。
特に上部の花びらは、手前と奥の距離感がなく、平面的である。

Today's class is a rabbit of Hokusai.
This picture is comprised of two of "the form" and "the detail".

今日は北斎のうさぎです。
この絵は、フォルムとディテールの２版で構成されています

Today's class is a rabbit of Hokusai's Camel.
There is no abozzo.It is expressed with the coat of hair such as the touch line.

輪郭線なしで、タッチのような毛並みで表現されています。

Hokusai-Lily-2

I drew the same lily sequentially.
Last time, it was doubtful even to catch the form.
It became the smooth line than it.
However, there is the line where concentration is lacking in still more.

引き続き、北斎の百合です。
前回と全く同じものです。

形をとらえる事さえ、おぼつかなかった前回よりは、
少しスムーズな線になっていますが、
まだまだ、集中力が欠けている線があります…。
