Shumai / Yokohama Kiyoken's Dragon

We ate Shumai of Yokohama, Kiyoken.
Speaking of Kiyoken,a soy sauce case of that charming white ceramics is famous.
But you must not forget that the package is the pattern of the dragon.
Because this year in the Year of the Dragon,
it was changed to a slightly gorgeous package.
It seems to be New Year limitation.

横浜・崎陽軒のシウマイを頂きました。
崎陽軒といえば、あのチャーミングな白い陶器の醤油入れ…ですが、
パッケージが龍の柄であることを忘れてはなりません。
今年は辰年だからでしょうか、新年限定らしく、
いつもと違って少しだけ派手なパッケージになっていました。

So,I try to do it this year.
The series "Let's draw everything which I watched and learn from them" .
ということで、今年もやります。
『見た物は描いて覚えてみましょうシリーズ』。

At first, catch the rough form
まずだいたいの形を。


Next, draw the details.
How to describe scales of the body resembles that we touch it.
I chase three-dimensional form in a diagonal line.
もう少し細かく。鱗はタッチで縦横を触るのと似ています。
立体的な形を斜めの線で追っていきます。


By a writing brush. It works that the scale of the back is green.
筆入れしました。背中の鱗がミドリなのが効いています。


Traditional Shumai which is the best to tidbits of the Beers.
Both the taste and the size are just right.
お酒のおつまみに最高な、昔ながらのシウマイ。
味も大きさも丁度よいです。

Mint color

We are having very hot days here.　A lot of cooling goods line up in the town.
Speaking of "cool off", A mint. So,I drew this from my wrapper collection.

暑い日が続いています。街には、冷却グッズがたくさん並んでいますね。
「涼む」と言えば、ミント。そこで、私の包み紙コレクションから…

If Japan,we will express this refreshed feeling in white + emerald green,or blue.
But, it is North Europe. an adult.
They express a mint by the hue that is calm smokey.
The caramel may be a point, too. Not candy.

Anyway, This blue is very important in this package.
So I compounded it by poster color.
No use even if too spirited or even if it is too dark.
No use even if I put yellow too much.
But it is not mere blue.
After a hue, chroma, delicate adjustment of the luminosity,
When a color to find came out, it is a nice thing.

日本だと、白＋エメラルドグリーン、もしくはブルーとかで、
ミントの「スカッ！」を表現するところを、
さすが北欧、オトナです。
落ち着いた、スモーキーな色合いによる、ミント表現。
寒さが日常的だから、そんなにビビットに
冷たさを表現する必要がないのかも。
「スカッ」ではなく、「つめたい」位の感じで。
中身が、キャンディではなく、トロ〜としたキャラメル
というのも、この色合いの理由かも知れません。

このパッケージでは、とにかくブルーが肝心…
ということで、ポスターカラーで調合しました。

明るすぎても、暗すぎても駄目。
黄色を入れ過ぎても駄目。でも、ただの青ではない。
色相・彩度・明度の微妙な調整の末、
求める色が出てきた時は、嬉しいものです。

I drew the brown sugar which I introduced the other day.
Because I wanted to show a feeling with a rattling sound,
with a colored pencil.
When I paint the paper in only brown,
Feel of a material of the paper does not appear.
So I painted light blue,It was killing two birds with one stone.
1) A brown reddish tinge disappeared a little.
2) The overall luminosity became slightly bright.
3) Thickness appeared just a little.Because a color entered the gap.
Furthermore, I painted yellow and showed a feeling of craft.

If you drew it by hand a little,There will be discovery a little.

先日ご紹介したブラウンシュガーも、描いてみました。
こっちはザラザラ感を出したかったので、色鉛筆で。



茶色だけで塗ると、紙の質感が出ないので、
薄い水色を重ねたら、以下の点で一石３鳥でした。
１）茶の赤みが押さえられる。
２）全体の明度が、やや明るくなった。
３）隙間に色が入ることで、ほんの少し厚みが出た。（のぺっとした平面でなくなる。）
更に黄色を重ねて、クラフト感をだしました。

ちょこっとでも、手で描いてみると、
ちょこっとでも、発見があります。

最近の包み紙コレクション。

１）Sugerville : The brown sugar which was attached to Italian coffee.
イタリア系コーヒーに添えられていた、ブラウンシュガー。


Sugar in itself is delicious with 100% of sugar millets.
The package just fits the image such as nature.
This strained paper gives us good feeling.
Made in Italy.

砂糖自体も、さとうきび100％で美味しいです。
天然、自然といったイメージにぴったり合ったパッケージ。
ややシャリシャリした張りのある紙が気持ちよい、愛されシュガー。
イタリア製。

２）AMBROSOLI Candy：アンブロッソリー　キャンディ。




Its size, curve condition,irregularity of a close drop...all just right. So It is delicious.
Made in Italy.

飴自体も、大きさといいカーブ具合といい、更に細かな粒の凹凸といい、
舌触りよく、美味しいです。
イタリア製。

The dish which I chose for photography is a saucer of the demitasse of the espresso.
撮影用に選んだお皿は、エスプレッソ用のデミタスカップのソーサー。


What accidentally! It was GINORI.
Only Italy gathered. After all,
there was a feeling of same atmosphere.

たまたま、ジノリ。イタリア三昧でした。
やはり、同じ空気感が漂っていたのですね。

Zest

I drew it not to forget the wrapper of lemon Jerry
that was presented yesterday.
It is not so an elaborate pattern.
But it becomes more charming when Jerry be wrapped up
and numbers increase.
A little nerdy design is good.
Be casual, be healthy.
It is an excellent supporting actor.

忘れないように、描いておきました。
昨日いただいたレモンジェリーの包み紙。
そんなに凝った柄ではないけれど、
ジェリ−が包まれ、更に数が集まるほどに魅力を増す、
そんな包み紙のデザイン。
ちょっとダサイところが好きです。
さりげなく、そして健全。
名脇役です。

表題のzest。我が社は恵比寿にあるので、
つい、あの、映画のセットのようなレストラン
"ZEST Cantina"を思い浮かべてしまいますが、
zestとは、レモンの皮、という意味でもあります。
さわやかな、心地よい刺激、ということですね。
