Bad luck often brings good luck

I came home by an unusual route
because the train which I got on by chance caused an accident.
Fantastic spectacle seen at Zoshigaya Station I got off.

乗っていた電車が事故を起こした為、いつもと違うルートで帰宅。
降りた雑司ヶ谷駅で見た、幻想的な光景。







I came across the Buddhist lantern parade of Kishimojin.
鬼子母神の御会式（おえしき）の万灯行列に遭遇したのです。

Unfortunate rain. The wind is strong, and chilly, too.
In such a situation,I could heard the tone of the bell like the Bali music style.
Lantern like a huge, white silkworm shook.
The Toden Arakawa Line of one car organization was running on a needlessly large road. The world of Yoshiharu Tsuge...

あいにくのドシャブリで風も強く、ブルブルと震えるくらい肌寒い中、
バリ風のシャリンシャリンという鐘の音と太鼓が鳴り響き、
巨大な白い蚕のような万灯が、ワッサワッサと揺れていました。
行列は長く、応援する観客も集まり盛り上がっていましたが、
少し離れると、暗くて人の気配もなく、
だだっ広い道に一両編成の都電荒川線が走る。



This event transmitted in Edo period.
I was impressed by the richness of imagination and the forming power of the Japanese culture again. Moreover, it was impressed by the man power of the people in local that valued it, and was continued every year.
(00:10- you can find a character of 「心」"Mind" on the back of the coat! )

江戸時代から伝わるこの行事。
あらためて日本文化の想像力、造形力の豊かさ、独自性に感心すると共に、
それを大切にし、毎年継続されている地元の方々の人間力に、深く心を動かされました。
（00:10辺り〜法被の背中に「心」の文字が!）

My tiredness blew off completely,my mind was completely washed by rain and this spectacle. And, it was possible to become fresh feelings.
Bad luck often brings good luck.It's a real gift for me.

すっかり疲れは吹き飛び、新鮮な気持ちで家路につきました。
災い転じて福となす。まさにBad luck often brings good luckな出来事でした。
ありがたや〜。

As Slow As Possible

Recently, I came to like a nonsense thing.
Although I was not interested in the things which was not practical...

最近、意味のないものが好きになってきました。
以前は実用的でないものには目もくれない主義でしたが。

This is John Cage's work titled 'As Slow As Possible',
which is the longest piece of music in the world.
A few sounds for one year.
It needs 639 years in finishing the performance.
Besides, there is the year of the silence.
Like a ceremony for one year a few sound,Vaughn …
But everybody is serious very much and looks happy.



これはジョン・ケージによる世界で一番長い曲です。
「As Slow As Possible」。（出来る限り遅く）
一年に数音。演奏するのに639年。無音の年もあるとか。
儀式のように一年に数音、ボーン…。

でもなぜか皆、大真面目で、そして楽しそうです。

There is something fascinating about its uselessness.
I can feel fun.After that,I think this might be a great thing.
I think about various possibility.
What's this? It's super cool!

無用なものに愛おしさを感じます。
いたずらを見つけた時のような笑みがこぼれます。
その後、もしやすごく意味のあることなんじゃないかと思ったりします。
いろいろな可能性が頭をぐるぐる巡ります。

意味不明…そういうのもに、最近ひかれます。超クール！

Jean-Michel Othoniel : My Way

I went to the exhibition "Jean-Michel Othoniel: My Way"
at Hara Museum of contemporary Art, Shinagawa,Tokyo.
He is the French artist known for his decorative, sensual artwork
made with vibrantly colored glass.

東京・品川の原美術館で行われている、
『ジャン＝ミシェル　オトニエル：マイ　ウェイ』展に行ってきました。
1964年生まれのオトニエルさんは、装飾的、官能的なガラスの作品で知られる
フランスのアーティストです。

We are allowed to take pictures at this exhibition. Besides,tomorrow is the last day.
So it was crowded very much.
Of these situation, somehow, I could take photos, too.

めずらしく写真撮影可能な展覧会。しかも明日が最終日。
ということで、大変混雑していました。
そんな中、私もなんとか撮影してきました。

There was a dreamland where all women seemed to be enchanted by there.
His works has intellectual refinement, that is not too sweet at all.
The translucency of the glass, bright colors,
The feeling of a material with coldness and warmth,
A feeling of comfortable weight,
Strange form to thrill people...I was excited.

そこには、女性なら誰でもうっとりする様な、夢の世界がありました。
でも決して甘過ぎず、知的な上品さを兼ね備えています。
ガラスの透明感、鮮やかな発色、
冷たさと温もりのある質感、心地よい重量感、
わくわくさせる奇妙な形態…、気分があがります。



In addition, his early work using lead or the wax is displayed, too.
I prefer to these works because it was sensual.

また、鉛やワックス（蜜蝋など）を使った初期の作品も展示されています。
これがまた、官能的で良いのです。
私個人的には、こちらの方も、かなりお気に入りです。



By the way, there is the value of seeing in this museum as a building.
If you come to this area, please drop.

明日夕方５時までなのですが、とてもおすすめの展覧会でした。
ちなみに原美術館は、建物としても一見の価値ありですよ。

I reported hair salon tuQui of Daikanyama which seems to be sisters shop of the Mazda design.
I took many photos.It is interior to serve as a reference very much.
Almost DIY!

写真を撮らせていただきました。
すごく参考になるインテリアです。
ほぼall DIY!

Cut-out

When I turned on TV by chance,
a picture of Jackson Pollock was reflected.
NHK NICHIYO-BIJYUTUKAN.(Saturday Museum).
Speaking of Pollock, he is the abstract painter by dripping paint.
I was interested in his work after he got an evaluation for the world, "Cut-out" (clipping)
Abstraction to a picture of Pollock of the pronoun,
What a concrete form appears.

たまたまTVをつけたら、
ジャクソン・ポロックの絵画が映っていました。
それはNHK日曜美術館でした。

ポロックと言えば、ペンキを垂らして描く事で有名な抽象画家です。
が、私の興味をひいたのは、彼が世間的に評価を得た後の作品、
『Cut-out』（切り抜き）です。
ポロックの絵に、具体的な形が出現するのです。

Is this RECONSTRUCTION?
It is a theme of our works which we work on now.
We cut our painting and reconstruct it once again.
Through the process,
we try the design which transmits the significance to all of you.

これ、Reconstructionでは？！と思いました。
Reconstruction；再構成。
それは今、私達が取り組んでいる作品のテーマです。
一度作った絵をCut-outし、もう一度再構成する。
そのプロセスを通して、
Reconstructionの意義を伝達する為のデザインを
試行錯誤しているところです。

批評家Ｍ・フリードは、このCut-outについて、
切り抜かれた部分は視覚的な「盲点（blind spot）」
として機能すると説いたそうです。

人は誰でも、一度完成させてしまうとなかなかそれを外す事はできない。
しかしそこには見えてない盲点があるのです。
それに気がつき、それを面白がることで
より包容力のある、かつ新鮮な画面が生まれるのではないかと思います。

St.Mary's Cathedral

My niece is 3 years old.
The other day, she invited the Seven-Five-Three Festival
at St.Mary's Cathedral TOKYO.
Excellent! It was a design by Mr.Kenzo Tange.
Please imagine a feeling of this magnificent scale.
We human being can make such a non-daily holy space...
I am surprised at the human ability.
It is unusual for a kimono figure to equal an altar,
At all without sense of incongruity,
I was very heartwarming .It was a wonderful scene.

東京カテドラル・聖マリア大聖堂です。
先日、姪の七五三がありました。
この壮大なスケール感！
さすがは巨匠・丹下健三氏による設計です。
このようなすばらしい非日常的で神聖な空間を作った人がいるとは。
人間の持つ想像力は計り知れません。
祭壇に和服姿が並ぶのは珍しいことですが、
全く違和感無く、素敵な光景でした。

ひとが成長していく姿を皆で喜ぶこと、
それは西洋も東洋も関係なく、
素晴らしいことですね。

※The Shichi-go-san (Seven-five-three) festival invites children of these ages, considered risky years, to pray for good health and luck.　Many children dressed up for it.
As it is a custom to visit shrines and temples at Shichi-go-san, the Catholic Church in Japan takes this tradition into consideration and includes this celebration and prayer of Shichi-go-san in a mass practiced around that time.

あの、メディチ家です。
かつてメディチ家のもとには、芸術家や科学者など多種多様な人々が集まり、
学びあう場になりました。そう、交差点。
ここでの交流が、ルネッサンスの源流となったそうです。
この本は現代人の為のビジネス書ですが、
私はこのメディチ家の歴史に興味があります。
なぜなら我が社にも、メディチがおりますから。
恵比寿のメディチ家も、そんなパワースポットになることを願っています。

そして最近、違った意味でのメディチ・インパクトが…!!!
でも大丈夫。これもきっと何かの啓示でしょう。

I also tried to visualize the music before.
I replace music with words. I replace it with a color, form.
Now I just noticed that this is an act called "Re-construction"
which is our theme on my work.
We break it and make the thing which became the form again once.
However, the theme does not change it.
By breaking it once, we will attach a new filter (idea).
It makes a work a more flexible one.
I think that this is "Re-construction".
By the way, speaking in architecture,
we say it "scrap & build".

私も以前、音楽を視覚化する試みをしていました。
音楽を言葉にし、それを色・形に…。
これは『再構築』という行為だったのだのだと、
今、気がつきました。
『再構築』は、最近のお仕事でのキーワードでもあります。
一度形になったものを、壊し、また作る。
もちろん、テーマは変えずに。
いったん壊すことにより、新しいフィルター（発想）をつけ替え、
より柔軟なものにする。これが『再構築』なのだと思います。

ちなみに建築的に言うと、『スクラップ＆ビルド』。
まさに行動どおりの言葉ですね。

Jan & Eva Svankmajer

I went to the exhibition of Mr.& Mrs.Svankmajer who are Surrealists in Czech.
"Jan & Eva Svankmajer : Film and Its Margins"
In there, many artworks are displayed such as sculptures, paintings, prints, drawings,
collages and more. Besides,it is displayed to woodblock prints
inspired by Japanese themes and motifs like Lafcadio Hearn's "Kwaidan".
I enjoyed these variety works very much.
In internet, you may feel that his images are grotesque,
But the real works are different from them.
Their handmade works are powerful! That amazes me!



チェコのシュルレアリスト・シュヴァンクマイエル夫妻の展覧会に行ってきました。
『ヤン＆エヴァ　シュヴァンクマイエル展　〜映画とその周辺〜』
シュールなオブジェあり、油絵あり、セットあり、過去の映画あり、
妖怪の木版画やコラージュまでも！
と盛りだくさんで、とても面白かったです。
グロテスクさに目がいきがちですが、
いざ作者が作った本物を目の前にすると、
手で作られた造形の迫力に、クラクラさせられます。

"Survivinglife" The movie by the paper-cutting animation is also released from today.
The making video,storyboard, and the collage that was cut with a cutter are displayed.
He said that he made paper-cutting because he did not have a budget.
But I was surprised whether he could do it depending on imagination.

カット（切り絵）アニメーションによる映画も今日から公開です。
映画『サヴァイヴィング ライフ　〜夢は第二の人生〜』
そのメイキングや絵コンテ、実際にカッターで切り、コラージュした画像等も展示。
予算がないから切り絵、ということでしたが、
想像力次第で、ここまで出来るのですね。



And the last is a portrait by Japanese Photographer EIKO HOSOE.
His dearest wife Eve died in 2005,
Jan in white cloth was projected their work and wife.
He said "I could feel her to be even if I closed my eyes."
I can feel how they worked hard in alteregoism pressingly.
I was impressive. This is a really recommended exhibition.

最後は写真家：細江英公氏によるポートレート。
最愛の妻・エヴァさんは2005年に亡くなられましたが、
白い布をまとったヤンに、二人の作品や奥さんを映して撮影。
「目をつむっていても彼女を感じた」いうヤンの表情に、
いかに二人が信頼しあい創作活動に励んでいたか、ひしひしと感じ
なんだか感動的でした。
