以前は実用的でないものには目もくれない主義でしたが。
This is John Cage's work titled 'As Slow As Possible',
which is the longest piece of music in the world.
A few sounds for one year.
It needs 639 years in finishing the performance.
Besides, there is the year of the silence.
Like a ceremony for one year a few sound,Vaughn …
But everybody is serious very much and looks happy.
これはジョン・ケージによる世界で一番長い曲です。
「As Slow As Possible」。（出来る限り遅く）
一年に数音。演奏するのに639年。無音の年もあるとか。
儀式のように一年に数音、ボーン…。
でもなぜか皆、大真面目で、そして楽しそうです。
There is something fascinating about its uselessness.
I can feel fun.After that,I think this might be a great thing.
I think about various possibility.
What's this? It's super cool!
無用なものに愛おしさを感じます。
いたずらを見つけた時のような笑みがこぼれます。
その後、もしやすごく意味のあることなんじゃないかと思ったりします。
いろいろな可能性が頭をぐるぐる巡ります。
意味不明…そういうのもに、最近ひかれます。超クール！

『寂しさの考察＝朽ちていく美しさ』
木内昇氏のコラム『寂しさの考察』より抜粋：
「（略）寂しさには、なんというか、独特の甘やかさが含まれているような気がするのだ。
色あせた本も、ペンキのはげた建物も、すり減った靴も、
そのもののあるべき形こそ失ってはいるが、とても美しく見える。
それらが経た、語られることのない日々が無二の美しさ愛おしさを形作るのである。」
「かつて、建築を専門にしている知人が言っていた。
『汚れが簡単に落とせて手間いらずの外壁や建材ってあるでしょ？
あれって便利なんだけど、古くなったとき、ただ薄汚くなるんだよね。
いい朽ち方をしないの』」

Jean-Michel Othoniel : My Way
I went to the exhibition "Jean-Michel Othoniel: My Way"
at Hara Museum of contemporary Art, Shinagawa,Tokyo.
He is the French artist known for his decorative, sensual artwork
made with vibrantly colored glass.
東京・品川の原美術館で行われている、
『ジャン＝ミシェル オトニエル：マイ ウェイ』展に行ってきました。
1964年生まれのオトニエルさんは、装飾的、官能的なガラスの作品で知られる
フランスのアーティストです。
We are allowed to take pictures at this exhibition. Besides,tomorrow is the last day.
So it was crowded very much.
Of these situation, somehow, I could take photos, too.
めずらしく写真撮影可能な展覧会。しかも明日が最終日。
ということで、大変混雑していました。
そんな中、私もなんとか撮影してきました。

There was a dreamland where all women seemed to be enchanted by there.
His works has intellectual refinement, that is not too sweet at all.
The translucency of the glass, bright colors,
The feeling of a material with coldness and warmth,
A feeling of comfortable weight,
Strange form to thrill people...I was excited.
そこには、女性なら誰でもうっとりする様な、夢の世界がありました。
でも決して甘過ぎず、知的な上品さを兼ね備えています。
ガラスの透明感、鮮やかな発色、
冷たさと温もりのある質感、心地よい重量感、
わくわくさせる奇妙な形態…、気分があがります。
In addition, his early work using lead or the wax is displayed, too.
I prefer to these works because it was sensual.
また、鉛やワックス（蜜蝋など）を使った初期の作品も展示されています。
これがまた、官能的で良いのです。
私個人的には、こちらの方も、かなりお気に入りです。
By the way, there is the value of seeing in this museum as a building.
If you come to this area, please drop.
明日夕方５時までなのですが、とてもおすすめの展覧会でした。
ちなみに原美術館は、建物としても一見の価値ありですよ。

Shumai / Yokohama Kiyoken's Dragon
We ate Shumai of Yokohama, Kiyoken.
Speaking of Kiyoken,a soy sauce case of that charming white ceramics is famous.
But you must not forget that the package is the pattern of the dragon.
Because this year in the Year of the Dragon,
it was changed to a slightly gorgeous package.
It seems to be New Year limitation.
横浜・崎陽軒のシウマイを頂きました。
崎陽軒といえば、あのチャーミングな白い陶器の醤油入れ…ですが、
パッケージが龍の柄であることを忘れてはなりません。
今年は辰年だからでしょうか、新年限定らしく、
いつもと違って少しだけ派手なパッケージになっていました。
So,I try to do it this year.

ということで、今年もやります。
『見た物は描いて覚えてみましょうシリーズ』。

I chase three-dimensional form in a diagonal line.
もう少し細かく。鱗はタッチで縦横を触るのと似ています。
立体的な形を斜めの線で追っていきます。
By a writing brush. It works that the scale of the back is green.
筆入れしました。背中の鱗がミドリなのが効いています。
Traditional Shumai which is the best to tidbits of the Beers.
Both the taste and the size are just right.
お酒のおつまみに最高な、昔ながらのシウマイ。
味も大きさも丁度よいです。

とらやの風呂敷。
愛嬌のある竜をシンプルに配置して、
上品に仕上げているあたり、なるほど、とらやです。
A red wine of the RED DRAGON brand & a dragon pendulum.
We decided to keep the wine with a wish.
RED DRAGONブランドの赤ワイン。
折角なので、これは願かけ用にとっておくことにしました。
辰振り子。鮮やかな黄緑がカワイイ！
「お好きな所に飾ってください。」ということでしたので…
I displayed it in the entrance hall of a new room.
It is a dragon causing happiness.
BTW, the birthday of the person whom we gave this smart present is close … .
I displayed a card. Will she notice it?
新しい部屋の玄関に飾りました。幸せを招く竜です。

A important woman whom I have been taking care of presented these socks to me on Christmas.
It has a very cute Christmas pattern.

I made a "thank you card" with the same pattern of her.
御礼のカード、いただいた靴下をアレンジして作ってみました。
The temperature at my balcony was 4 degrees this morning.
It’s going to be cold for a while.
An early winter day.
今朝のベランダの気温は４度。
ふう〜。寒い日が続きますね。

When I turned on TV by chance,
a picture of Jackson Pollock was reflected.
NHK NICHIYO-BIJYUTUKAN.(Saturday Museum).
Speaking of Pollock, he is the abstract painter by dripping paint.
I was interested in his work after he got an evaluation for the world, "Cut-out" (clipping)
Abstraction to a picture of Pollock of the pronoun,
What a concrete form appears.
たまたまTVをつけたら、
ジャクソン・ポロックの絵画が映っていました。
それはNHK日曜美術館でした。
ポロックと言えば、ペンキを垂らして描く事で有名な抽象画家です。
が、私の興味をひいたのは、彼が世間的に評価を得た後の作品、
『Cut-out』（切り抜き）です。
ポロックの絵に、具体的な形が出現するのです。

It is a theme of our works which we work on now.
We cut our painting and reconstruct it once again.
Through the process,
we try the design which transmits the significance to all of you.
これ、Reconstructionでは？！と思いました。
Reconstruction；再構成。
それは今、私達が取り組んでいる作品のテーマです。
一度作った絵をCut-outし、もう一度再構成する。
そのプロセスを通して、
Reconstructionの意義を伝達する為のデザインを
試行錯誤しているところです。
批評家Ｍ・フリードは、このCut-outについて、
切り抜かれた部分は視覚的な「盲点（blind spot）」
として機能すると説いたそうです。
人は誰でも、一度完成させてしまうとなかなかそれを外す事はできない。
しかしそこには見えてない盲点があるのです。
それに気がつき、それを面白がることで
より包容力のある、かつ新鮮な画面が生まれるのではないかと思います。

Golden light
Tokyo was a fine autumn day.
The photos above show an avenue full of Ginkgo trees at MEIJI-JINGU-GAIEN.
The golden light was dazzling!
I was as excited as I was when I went cherry-blossom viewing.
（You know that cherry-blossoms are special for Japanese people ;)
They are just in full bloom.
神宮外苑のイチョウ並木です。
きいろの光が、まさに『まばゆい』！
お花見をしているような高揚感でした。
ちょうど見頃です。
"ICHOU (ginkgo) Festival" until December 11.
You can enjoy the branch, too.
12月11日まで『いちょう祭り』をやっています。
模擬店、かなり本格的で楽しめます。

Gourds in the basket
I got a lot of gourds as year-end present.
It is called "HayatoーUri".It is a very wild form.
I ate them with lightly soaked pickles
Before I finished eatging all of them,
I put them in a basket and enjoyed them as decorations for a while.
The basket matches the vegetables well.
瓜を頂きました。『はやと瓜』と言います。
なかなか野性的な形です。
浅漬けにしていただきました。
食べきるまでのしばらくの間、
籠に入れて、見た目を楽しんでいます。
野菜と籠はよく合いますね。

St.Mary's Cathedral
My niece is 3 years old.
The other day, she invited the Seven-Five-Three Festival
at St.Mary's Cathedral TOKYO.
Excellent! It was a design by Mr.Kenzo Tange.
Please imagine a feeling of this magnificent scale.
We human being can make such a non-daily holy space...
I am surprised at the human ability.
It is unusual for a kimono figure to equal an altar,
At all without sense of incongruity,
I was very heartwarming .It was a wonderful scene.
東京カテドラル・聖マリア大聖堂です。
先日、姪の七五三がありました。
この壮大なスケール感！
さすがは巨匠・丹下健三氏による設計です。
このようなすばらしい非日常的で神聖な空間を作った人がいるとは。
人間の持つ想像力は計り知れません。
祭壇に和服姿が並ぶのは珍しいことですが、
全く違和感無く、素敵な光景でした。
ひとが成長していく姿を皆で喜ぶこと、
それは西洋も東洋も関係なく、
素晴らしいことですね。

Take a bus bound for Chinzan-so or Shinjuku Station West Exit (Shinjuku Eki Nishiguchi),
and get off at Chinzanso-mae.

JR山手線目白駅より⑤乗り場「新宿駅西口」行き都営バス、
「椿山荘（関口三丁目）」下車すぐ（椿山荘の向かいです）
師走に入りました。街もいよいよクリスマスカラーに。
今年の聖夜はこの大聖堂で、静かな時を過ごしてみるのも良いかもしれません。
※The Shichi-go-san (Seven-five-three) festival invites children of these ages, considered risky years, to pray for good health and luck. Many children dressed up for it.
As it is a custom to visit shrines and temples at Shichi-go-san, the Catholic Church in Japan takes this tradition into consideration and includes this celebration and prayer of Shichi-go-san in a mass practiced around that time.
